I guess I just expected more

I guess I just expected more. I expected for you to grow more. To learn from your mistakes. And I don’t think that happened.

I guess I expected for something that I always dreaded to see again happen again. But it happened again. I guess I just expected more. It’s kind of like a day where everything goes right until something goes wrong. Like how it rains on your birthday. Or getting stood up. Or failing a test. It’s all part of life.

I guess I expected for my life to go back to the way it was. But it hasn’t and it won’t. And that’s okay; we all depend on someone else for happiness and it’s true that happiness is only real when shared. But is it true that all of it has to supplied by others?

I guess I expected the same things always. I guess I just expected more.
